Barn and Pond Cleared
Battlefield Land Restoration Project Completed
The brick house, barn and pond site removal was recently completed at Perryville.  Modern structures were removed and some of the land's wartime characteristics were restored.  We will be planting Kentucky native grasses and begin the interpretation of the battle area over the next few weeks. Many thanks to all of the volunteers that helped with this  project!

The Destruction of this house was part of the battlefield restoration project. The house was built right behind the location of Sam Harris' 19th Indiana Battery and was right in the middle of the fighting ground of George P. Webster's Brigade.

In recent years it was used for training for both fire and police departments, then burned as part of a training exercise for the local fire departments.
