Quail, Cannons, and Conservation

You are cordially invited to attend Quail, Cannons, and Conservation at Perryville Battlefield State Park. This event will showcase the habitat work completed over the past year on the Park, converting over 700 acres of fescue hay and pasture land into native quail habitat. Come out and celebrate this native short-grass landscape, which is virtually the same as what soldiers laid eyes on during The Battle of Perryville in the fall of 1862.

Time: 9 am to 2 pm

Walking tours: tours will include a nature hike, birding tour, and information about bees and butterflies 

Riding tours: tours will include information from experts on conversion of land to native grass and forb plantings for wildlife habitat or livestock forage

Free museum admission: The Museum walls tell the story of The Battle of Perryville in graphics. Photos and quotations from actual soldiers capture the feeling of what it was like in 1862. Display cases house artifacts, uniforms and weapons
